"Additive manufacturing has a series of challenges that are also opportunities. For example, the machines. Are there huge machines for producing very large structures? Or do we use small, intelligent robots that can build bigger than themselves, the same way we see in nature? The challenges of materials, machines, robots, and the contribution that can design can have will fundamentally impact the possibilities of 3D printing in architecture and construction."

Areti Markopoulou - Academic Director - IaaC
